Founded in 1966 by Bud Bushnell, Genie Industries took the original lift concept where compressed air is used to raise and lower the hoist and expanded to manufacture boom lifts, scissor lifts, aerial work platforms and more. Genie's lifts are used across the globe in industries including aviation, construction, entertainment, military/government, industrial and warehouse/retail. Genie Industries was sold to Terex Work Platforms in 2002, but the Genie brand has remained strong and Terex still manufactures Genie aerial lifts under the Genie name.
